There quite a number of people out there, voicing out there displeasures about what they saw going on outside. Most of their times, they are talking about how this should not have happened, how things could have been avoided. And when that particular incident involves the government, or some ministry under it, they began talking about if our government knows what they are doing. A few comments thus got the attention of the government, and some got questioned, one particular i know got arrested for his comment.
When this sort of thing happened, people starts to say 'Singapore got no freedom of speech' and that it is 'against human rights'. A number of them starts to say that this isn't how a democratic country should be.
He got surprised. Imagine you are a student in a school, would you tell a teacher directly that he/she should /not have done it this way, or would you ask him/her the reason why it was done this way??
People nowadays got more and more simple-minded these days. In fact,he thinks that the younger generations are getting more and more rude. They do not know how to ask a question properly, and more often than not, they don't ask you a questions; They demand for your answer. Whatever happens to courtesy and politeness?
One more thing, Singapore is not a Democratic country. Singapore is a Socio-Democratic country. Please people, know the difference, as it is for your own good.
Look around you. If the government is doing a bad job, why do you have a roof over your head? Why do you have food to eat? How are you able to go to school? How are you able to buy your favourite games, or see your favourite movie?
Please, do not take things for granted. What ever you are able to do now, it is the fruits of the efforts our forefathers did. The least we can do now, is to appreiciate it.
